Youth Beginning Drawing and Painting
Ages 8-11
Come to weekly classes for 18 weeks, where they develop their skills through exercises that teach them to “see” the way that artists do. They will learn about contour, value, relationship of lines and the use of positive and negative space. Students learn to draw with confidence as they explore a variety of art materials and learn techniques for using pastels, colored pencils, acrylic paint, watercolor and more.

Artists can paint anywhere in Zionsville including the gardens on the Gardens of Zionsville Tour. The event ends at the SullivanMunce where the works go through judging and awards are given. This class is designed for the student who has very little or no experience with clay. The students will learn how to construct hand-built objects with coil, pinch and slab techniques. The class will concentrate first on small objects such as tiles, boxes, rattles and plates and then move on to build larger objects such as platters, planters and vases. Raku firing will be available in addition to traditional kiln firing. One 25-pound bag of clay is included with class fee. Tools are available in the studio.

Learn basic fabrication techniques including annealing, sawing, piercing, filing, texturing, soldering, forming, and polishing using non-ferrous metals. You will use provided jewelry tools and equipment in a safe, supportive, creative environment. You will use your newly learned skills to create your own additional pieces.. Create your own key chain, bookmarks, ring, bracelet, necklace, earrings or non-jewelry project using copper, brass, or bronze.

Techniques include painting, printmaking, and collage to transform your work into a multi-dimensional masterpiece! The projects will involve perspective, figures, or landscape with lots of visuals for ideas. No experience necessary.
