Since its inception in 1981, the art center has been dedicated to honoring the vision of our founding benefactress - Elizabeth Hopkins Munce - by providing a community cultural resource that offers gallery exhibits featuring the works of emerging regional artists representing a wide range of styles and mediums, fine art education for both and adults and children, and special events and educational outreach programs that enhance the mission of our organization.

The 2008 Year in Review...A Look Back at the Art Center

PAINT OUT
On Saturday, June 13, 2009 the SullivanMunce Cultural Center (SMCC) will host the "4th Annual Zionsville Paint Out" event in Zionsville, IN. This year the Paint Out will coincide with our Guild's annual Gardens of Zionville Tour. New this year! Artists are invited to paint the gardens on the tour. Maps of the gardens and histroic downtown locations will be included in your registration packet. Artists are encouraged to paint the sites listed, but are not required to do so. The event is open to artists of all ages and skill level. Using their own supplies, participants are to create original artwork in any medium. All works completed that day by 2pm are eligible for judging. Monetary awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The guest judge for this year's Paint Out will be Todd Reifers. Artists must register and/or check-in between 7am and 10am at the SullivanMunce Art Center the morning of the event to enjoy a continental breakfast and to have their canvasses or multi-media supplies stamped/tagged before beginning their work. The Zionsville Paint Out will be held rain or shine.
Cost: Free members/$25 non-members.

PAINT OUT PUBLIC ART SALE
Display space will be available for artists wishing to offer additional works of art for sale between the hours of 10am and 3pm the day of the Paint Out in Lincoln Park. The Art Center will provide volunteers to manage the sale while you paint. The Art Center will retain 30% commission from all items sold. The sale will take place in Lincoln Park in Zionsville. In case of inclement weather the sale will be moved to the Mahaney Gallery at the SullivanMunce Cultural Center located at 205 West Hawthorne Street in Zionsville. Artists must bring their own easels or display items to use for the exhibition and sale.

PAINT OUT EXHIBITION
Zionsville Paint Out Participants are invited to particpate in an exhibition at the Mahaney Gallery located at the SullivanMunce Cultural Center. Work is to be dropped off at the SMMC/Art Center Gallery immediately following the Paint Out at 3pm. There is no entry fee, but SMCC will retain 30% of all sales. The exhibit opening will be Friday, June 26 from 6pm-10pm and will coincide with the popular Brick Street Gallery Walk in downtown Zionsville!
